24 – 28 August 2026

The International Centre for Mathematics in Ukraine (ICMU) and the Centre for Quantum Mathematics (QM) at the University of Southern Denmark are jointly organising a conference on applied mathematics.

This five-day event will take place simultaneously at two locations, with a live connection between audiences at ICMU in Kyiv and QM in Odense.

The conference aims to provide an overview of recent advances in the application of mathematical methods across science, technology, and economics. Topics will include, but are not limited to, applied probability, cryptography, machine learning, optimization, statistics, and quantum mathematics. A dedicated day of the conference will focus on the latter topic, under the title Quantum Mathematics and Its Application to Quantum Computing.

On Wednesday, a special session will take place, dedicated to the role of modern mathematics as a foundation for technology, innovation, and economic development. The session will bring together representatives from science, technology, business, and the philanthropic community.

Maryna Viazovska (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Scientific Director of ICMU) and Anna Nagurney (University of Massachusetts Amherst) will speak at the special session.
