Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics (Canada) has published an article dedicated to the ICMU Winter School "Mathematics of Quantum Matter" , which took place in Kyiv in January 2026.
In covering the event, the article emphasises that, despite the difficult circumstances faced by young Ukrainian mathematicians, the winter school provided them with the opportunity to continue their research, reconnect with the international research community, exchange ideas and strengthen international collaboration.
The article also highlights the broader significance of the event, demonstrating to the international scientific community that serious research and educational work remains active in Ukraine.

Organised in collaboration with researchers from Perimeter Institute, the school explored mathematical aspects of condensed matter physics. Over 40 students and researchers from Ukraine and abroad took part. The event marked a milestone for ICMU, expanding its activities beyond its traditional focus on pure mathematics.
